X2HN first started as a lunch group hosted by Gale Wilson-Steele, then CEO of MEDSEEK, that met every year at the HIMSS Conference, healthcare's largest information technology event.  The women looked forward to catching up and sharing their perspectives on the IT world, and with cards exchanged would often seek each other for advice or resources during the year.  The group grew and finally in 2005 in San Diego agreed that it was time to formalize what had become a cherished network of colleagues and friends and to host a conference of our own.  A Board of Directors was created, along with our Mission and Goals, and in 2007 we offered our first Xscape . 

I wanted to thank you for not only "seeing the possibilities" but coordinating the OUTSTANDING inaugural X2 Healthcare Network Conference last week in Santa Barbara. Without question, this event was exceptional -- from the participants to the presentations

The conference gave all of us a renewed sense of what needs to be fixed in the fragmented US healthcare delivery and reimbursement systems as well as the feeling that an X2 Healthcare Network position of advocacy will make a difference.  I'll be talking this up at HIMSS so that this important network will grow and evolve.  Deborah Kohn, MPH, RHIA, CHE, CPHIMS Principal Dak Systems Consulting
